Fw: New Year's Resolution

I must be PMSing or something. I'm abrasive and confrontational and getting pissed at people for stupid things. I got mad at a coworker today because she corrected me in front of a customer I was lying to because I didn't want to fill out a form for him because he was an ass. As a result I had to fill out said form. I'm mildly annoyed and intimidated by the new girl and I about went off on my brother because I wanted to eat at Bob Evans. Ionno what's going on.

My dad just really pissed me off. We were talking about teaching certification, which led to a discussion of the school I'm at for field. I told him my social studies teacher has five classes, all seventh grade. I told him this because he questioned why one teacher can't teach two subjects at the middle school level. He's thinking in terms of efficiency. I told thin that one of the classes has only seven students in it, and he said that was a waste of money. I didn't really understand why, as if he weren't teaching those students he'd just have an extra planning period, and get paid the same amount. I told him as such and he said that if could be teaching another class with 40 or 50 students in it. I was still pondering how that would solve anything or save any money when he said, 'That's the problem with these academic types. We need to put the business people in charge of education.' I couldn't help but think of the dead horse book. Yes, let's put businesspeople in charge of education and farmers in charge of the automotive industry and playwrights in charge of legislation. Wouldn't that make things better? 40 to 50 in a classroom indeed... I was about to ask him how many degrees he had in Education but I don't have any more than he does, so I kept my mouth shut. We got in a debate about fuel the other night, and while I held my own, I'm not a huge fan of debate. I'm sure he was proud of my critical thinking skills though. I'm rather proud of them myself.

Tonight was a good night. We had a blizzard, so we lit a fire, had grilled cheese and clam chowder, turned off the TV and played shanghai rummy. My brother won. We laughed a lot. Lil' E was sleeping on the couch and I just felt very cozy. Good times.

I had a dream last night that I had to chase and kill a monkey as part of my master's program. It was either a chimp or an orangutan and I had to kill it with my bare hands. It was running around the church. I caught it in the cry room and kept pushing on its trachea but it wouldn't die. I think I forgot to take my meds yesterday.

Went to see the bunnies last night. So freaking cute. They're getting more comfortable with their environment and routine. They're eating and drinking more. When we take them out, they're exploring more and peeing less. Last night they were doing this little jump-really-hard-with-their-hindquarters thing so their little bunny butts would flip around... It was really cute. Molly was doing it all over the place. She also discovered the mirror at the head of the bed. She thought there were other bunnies. Dawn thinks she's the smarter of the two. She may be right. I'm still holding out hope for Mag though. I picked her based on her picture, and therefore her looks. I hope I don't regret that. I don't think I will. I think she'll turn out fine. This morning when I checked on them she came over and kissed my finger. And last night they were both eating out of my hand. So I'm pretty much hooked.
